(From McQueen Funeral Home)Joyce Louise Prewitt, age 72, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Cassville, Missouri.
She was born July 9, 1949 in Stella, Missouri the daughter of Bert and Louise (Williams) Coleman.
On April 6, 1968 in Ridgley, Missouri she was united in marriage to Ferman Prewitt, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Marty Prewitt of Monett, Missouri; one daughter, Jessica Jones and her husband Brian of Maryville, Illinois; two brothers, Danny Coleman and his wife Carolyn of Joplin, Missouri and Ronnie Coleman and his wife Joni of Rogers, Arkansas and three grandchildren, Brennan, Ty and Cole.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Joyce received her education in Rocky Comfort, Missouri where she graduated from high school. For about one year she worked for Jumping Jack Shoe Company in Cassville. While Ferman was in the United States Army they lived in Germany and then moved to Wheaton where they made their home. For thirty-five years she was employed as a blower assembler at Fasco. She was an active member of Ridgley Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, the Wheaton Senior Citizens Center and the Depot Historical Society. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking, raising flowers and being with her grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Donnie Spears and Pastor Frank Smith will conduct the services.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Friday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.
The family request that masks be worn.
