(From Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary)Teresa Kay DeMasters, age 58, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Freeman West after a courageous battle with cancer.
Teresa was born February 3, 1963 in Carthage, Missouri, daughter of Roy and Nancy (McDonald) Greathouse of Sarcoxie, Missouri. Teresa grew up in Sarcoxie and graduated from Sarcoxie High School in 1981.
She married Mark D. DeMasters on July 31, 1982 and enjoyed being married to him for 39 years.
She worked over the years at different locations before enjoying her last 11 years working for Downstream Casino and Resort. She made many friends throughout her time there. She was also a member of Tennessee Prairie Church in Galena.
Teresa’s family was very important to her, and she loved spending time being outdoors, especially being on the Big Sugar Creek in McDonald County. She was always available to take care of her family and friends and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her husband, Mark DeMasters; daughter, Brittney DeMasters of Joplin; brothers, Tom Greathouse and Curtis Greathouse (April) all of Sarcoxie; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction or Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
