(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Mary Peoples, 78, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in Joplin, Missouri. Mary was born January 1, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Floyd Eugene DeShong and Henryetta Campbell. She was a longtime resident of Carthage, Missouri.
Mary was a nurse’s aide at Fair Acres and worked with children in her home for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed playing games on her tablet. Mary was in a bowling league, collected clocks and enjoyed word searches.
Mary was united in marriage to David Peoples on November 19, 1983 at David’s parents’ home in Carthage, Missouri. This November, Mary and David would have been married 38 years.
Mary is survived by her husband, David; two sons, Eric Peoples (Candie) of Carthage, Missouri; and Brandon Peoples (Brandy) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister, Floyetta McCulloch of Carthage, Missouri; three nieces, Peggy Wilkerson,Brittany Pittman and Caroletta Baker; a nephew, Darran McCulloch; several great nieces and nephews; four grandchildren, Adri Winkleman (Alex), Brantley Peoples (Caitlyn), Byron Smith (Sara) and Clayton Sellers; four great-grandchildren, Sam Winkleman, Jaxsyn Winkleman, Layne Winkleman, and Everley Peoples.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd DeShong and Henryetta Campbell; a brother-in-law, Gary McCulloch; and a nephew, Chris Wilkerson.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m at Ulmer Funeral Home.
