(From Parker Mortuary)Russell Thomas Asbell, age 33, of Carl Junction passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Freeman West in Joplin.
Russell was born on June 21, 1988 to Jeffrey Thomas Asbell and Cindy (Thomason) Moran, in Joplin.
Russell grew up in Carl Junction and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 2007.
After graduating he then attended Franklin Technology Center where he completed the Automotive Technology program. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying everything from fishing to four-wheeling. Russell loved his family, but his world revolved around the love of his life, his daughter, Sophia.
Survivors include his mother, Cindy Moran, and her husband, Blair, of Joplin; his daughter, Sophia Asbell, of Webb City; two brothers, Jake Asbell, and his wife, Krista, of Carl Junction, and Collin Asbell, of Joplin; his grandfather, Tom Asbell, and his wife, Dixie, of Carl Junction; his nephew and niece; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members that loved him. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Karen and Leroy Thomason, and Ruth Asbell; and his father, Jeffrey Thomas Asbell.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with visitation to follow. Private family committal of ashes will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joplin Humane Society and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
