David Watkins

David Earl Watkins, age 71, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Friday, April 12, 2024 at his home.

He was born September 23, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Amos and Lavern (McGlothlin) Watkins. On May 27, 1971 in Carthage, Missouri he was united in marriage to Sandra Jo Myers, who preceded him in death on August 20, 2021. Also preceding him death were his parents; one brother, Donald Watkins and one grandson, Kaleb.

 

Surviving are his son, David Aaron Watkins of Anderson, Missouri; three daughters, Sandra Collier and her husband Adam of Anderson, Missouri, Misty Watkins of Cassville, Missouri and Norma Kirkpatrick and her husband Gerald of Eagle Rock, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

David grew up and received his education in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Army when he was seventeen years old and shortly afterwards married the love of his life, Sandra Jo. Together they raised their four children in Carthage, Missouri. David worked for the Carthage Marble Corporation as a forklift operator for many years. He was a member of Church of Christ in Carthage. David enjoyed spending time making knives and bows, going camping and collecting guns.

 

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Williams will conduct the services. Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:00 P.M. Monday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
