Phillip Tuten

Phillip William Tuten, Sr., age 73, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 4:43 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024, at his home. He was born January 23, 1951, in Alameda, California, the son of Oleary Ulan and Dorothy May (Barber) Tuten.

Phillip was a 1969 graduate of Lamar High School in Lamar, Missouri. He was a United States Air Force veteran and worked in Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a member of the Church in Action, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.








On November 25, 1969, he married Charlotte Marie Thomas in Lamar, Missouri.

Phillip is survived by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte; three sons, Phillip Tuten, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Shell Knob, Missouri, Christopher Tuten and his wife, Keri, of Joplin, Missouri and David Tuten and his wife, Ashley, of Willard, Missouri; one brother, Paul Tuten of Wichita, Kansas; 18 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Oluary and Dorothy, and one brother, Patrick Tuten.








A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the Church in Action. A private family burial will be held at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
