(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)Virginia R. Beaver, 93, of Olathe and formerly of Parsons, passed away at 5:35 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2024, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park.
Virginia Ruth Gnadt was born on March 20, 1931, to Charles E. and Ethel N. (Thompson) Gnadt in Joplin, Missouri. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Joplin, graduating from Joplin High School.
On December 17, 1948, Virginia and Noel D. Beaver were united in marriage in Joplin, Missouri. From 1956 to 1967, the family lived in Joplin, Carthage, Nevada and Carl Junction, Missouri. After moving to Parsons in 1967, Virginia attended Coffeyville Vocational Technical School. She worked as a certified dietary manager at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center until her retirement.
She was an active member of the Nazarene Church in Carl Junction. While working, Virginia was a member of the Dietary Manager’s Association.
Survivors include:
Three sons – Neil Beaver and his wife, Mary, of Lawton, Oklahoma
Jerry Beaver and his wife, Carol, of Olathe, Kansas
Dennis Beaver and his wife, Linda, of Sun City Center, Florida
Three grandchildren – Bryan, Aaron, and Christa
Five great-grandchildren – Brady, Anabelle, Brennan, Addie, and Braelyn
She was preceded in death by her husband, Noel, on August 3, 2015; one grandson, Casey Beaver; one brother, Charles Gnadt; and one sister, Betty Gnadt.
The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Oakwood Cemetery in Parsons. Friends may stop by the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons to sign the register from Noon to 5:00 p.m., Friday.
