Jimmie Sullivan, 78, of Monett, MO, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, May 08, 2017, while at his home. He was comforted with his family at his side.
Jimmie was born on August 11, 1938 in Aurora, MO, son of the late Curtis and Ella (Cummings) Sullivan. Jimmie graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1956. Shortly thereafter, he began his seventeen year career working for Hiland Dairy. He then began working for Wells Aluminum in Monett. Lastly, he worked for over fifteen years at EFCO. Jimmie was a member of New Site Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren, especially watching and encouraging them in their sports.
On March 6, 1959, Jimmie married Norma Sue Myers. To this union, three children were born. They were blessed with over fifty-eight years of wonderful memories made together.
Jimmie is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; two daughters, Deborah Collins, of Springfield, MO and Rebecca Sullivan, of Granby, MO; one brother, Joe Sullivan, of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Shirley Fillman, of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Nicole, Nathan, Mackenzie and Luke; five great-grandchildren, Blaine, Mollie, Landon, Sydnee and Emma; as well as a host of family and friends that will dearly miss him.
Jimmie was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Sullivan; one brother, John Sullivan; and one sister, Betty Hilton.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Reverend Aaron Weibel will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the New Site Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
