Ed Whittington

Ed Whittington, age 75, of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on April 14, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on March 19, 1949, in Neosho, Missouri, to John and Betty (Watson) Whittington. 

A lifelong resident of the area, Ed graduated from Neosho High School in 1967 and later earned an Associate’s degree from Crowder College. He dedicated his career to quality control and retired from Blue Buffalo in Joplin, Missouri. Ed was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Chiefs. 








On June 4, 1982, in Miami, Oklahoma, Ed married Martha (Mitchell), and they shared 41 wonderful years together. He cherished spending time with his beloved wife, Martha.

In addition to his wife, Martha, Ed is survived by his four children: Kim Clay and husband Shawn of St. Louis, Eric Shoenberger and wife Kami of Aurora, Rick Shoenberger and wife Phyllis of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and Kristy Price and husband A.J. of Neosho. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as siblings Diane Ward of Goodman, Scott Whittington, and Mitch Whittington of Goodman. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sheila Turner.








A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 5:30 to 7 pm at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Contributions in memory of Ed may be made to the Joplin Ronald McDonald House.
