Harold Cook

Harold Gene Cook, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Neosho. He was born on June 16, 1941, in Granby, MO, to Charles Jackson “Jack” and Lois Geraline “Jerry” (Davis) Cook. 

Harold graduated from Granby High School in 1961 and went on to marry the love of his life, Carolyn Powell, on August 30, 1962, in Miami, OK. They shared many wonderful years together until her passing on July 11, 2017. 







Harold worked for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for several years, until he was injured on the job. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and never missed watching a game. Harold enjoyed his backyard Purple Martin Houses & watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He attended as many games as possible as his health permitted.

Harold is survived by his children Darren Cook and wife Gina of Neosho, Chuck Cook and wife Betsy of Granby, and Amanda Cook of Granby. His legacy also continues through his cherished grandchildren: Payton Cook and wife Tarah, Kayley Hutchens and husband C.J., Emma Clymer and husband Elijah, Jackson Cook, Kaytlyn Cook, Luke Cook, Halle Cook, Sebastian, Joshua Litchfield, and Brodie Litchfield, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jessica and Christopher Hutchens, Raelynn, Elowyn Cook and he was anticipating the arrival of a new great-grandchild due in July, adding to his joyous family. Harold is also survived by his brother Denny Cook and wife Gloria of Crane, MO.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Carolyn.








A visitation to honor Harold's life will be held from 6-7 pm on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Clark Funeral Home in Granby. A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted at 10 am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, with interment following at Granby Memorial Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Harold can be made to East Newton United, 22808 E. Hwy 86, Granby, MO 64844.
