Rick Tracy

Rickie Lee “Rick” Tracy, age 71, Neosho, MO, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Mercy of Springfield with family at his side.

Rick was born January 6, 1953 in Wheaton, MO, son of the late Dolph Doris Tracy and Virginia Ollene (Erisman) Tracy. He grew up in Joplin and attended Memorial High School. 

He worked for years as a truck driver, retiring after 35 years as an independent owner/operator. 








He met Lavonne, his future wife, at M & H Sinclair Station at 20th and Rangeline. He had a love for his 10 acres where he and his wife raised horses, cows, pigs, and chickens. He loved hunting, fishing, and most of all taking care of his family. He had a huge sense of humor and loved to give everyone a hard time. He left a lasting impression and was a hero to us all.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by a daughter, Stephanie Renee Tracy who passed in 2021, a brother, Ron “Hunk” Tracy, and a sister, Connie Allgood.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Lavonne (Phelps) Tracy; daughter, Jennifer L. Tracy of Neosho, MO, son, Rick L. Tracy Jr. (Kelli) of Galena, KS; grandchildren, Rickie Tracy III of Galena, Chelsea Seitz (Mikey) of Galena, Dillon Katzer (Kayla) of Baxter Springs, KS, and Cody Carrico of Galena; great-grandchildren, Lily Carrico, Nora Katzer and Ella Katzer; brothers, Randy Tracy (Kimberly) of Wagner, OK, John Tracy (Clevia) of Joplin, MO, and Richard “Pork” Tracy (Michelle) of Neosho; sisters, Cathy Barnett (Dave) of Neosho, and Cheri McPherson (Bill Kollmeyer) of Carthage; several nieces and nephews.








A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Parker Mortuary Chapel with his son, Rick L. Tracy, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery with Rick Tracy Jr., Rickie Tracy III, Richard “Pork” Tracy, Randy Tracy, John Tracy, and Larry Allgood serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
