Doris Beckham

(From Simpson Funeral Home)

A daughter of the King.

Wife to one, mother to three, grandmother and friend to many.

Fighting a short battle with cancer, Doris E. Beckham went to her eternal Home with Jesus and reunited with the love of her earthly life, Grady, on December 5th, 2024 at the age of 88.

Doris was born August 4, 1936 to the union of Frank Shoup and Mildred B. Huddleston.

Graduating from Webb City High School in 1954, she joined Grady in marriage in September of that same year.

Together once again with her parents Frank and Bernice Shoup, sister Janice and brothers Harold, Kenneth, Charles, and Larry, and son David.

Doris is survived by her sons Michael Beckham (wife Lisa), and Tom Beckham (wife Michele); granddaughters Heather Jackson (Alan) and Tiffany Harrelson (Paul); along with grandsons Ben Beckham, Jon Beckham (Ashley), Jack Beckham (Megan), Seth Denison (Cayleigh), and David Beckham; along with 16 great-grandchildren.

Along with Grady, Doris owned and operated Beckham Marine and Beckham Machine for over 30 years. She loved her sons dearly but loved all the Grands even more.

Doris was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, MO. She shared her faith with anyone that would listen. She prayed daily by name for each of her family members. Her faithfulness to the Lord served her well.

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.””

‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭

While we grieve the physical loss of her earthly presence, we "sorrow not, even as others which have no hope." 1 Thess. 4:13. Our hope lies in Christ Jesus. Well done good and faithful servant.

We miss you, we love you, we will see you again.

We can also rest assured the streets of gold have been swept.

Funeral services for Doris will be held at 11am on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 N. Pennsylvania St., Webb City, MO 64870. A visitation will be held from 10am until service time. Those serving as pallbearers will be Ben Beckham, Jon Beckham, Jack Beckham, Alan Jackson, Zion Jackson, and Seth Denison. Interment will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.

Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City, MO.
