James Bollinger

James E. Bollinger, 92, Neosho, MO passed away November 22, 2018. He was born September 12, 1926 in Sedgewickville, MO to Thomas and Elizabeth (Ellis) Bollinger. He served in the US Army during WWII and had worked in several different jobs, including a grocery warehouse manager, a salesman of recreational vehicles, and a house builder. James moved to Neosho in the mid-1990s.

 He married the former June Barks on October 4, 1943 in Cape Girardeau; she preceded him in death on January 21, 2017. James is survived by six children: Launny Bollinger and wife, Jo of Quitman, TX, Kay Cade and husband, Dean of Arvada, CO, James Bollinger, Jr. and wife, Ann of Neosho, MO, Connie Boeckenstedt of Staunton, IL, Patty Diliberto and husband, Nat of Topeka, KS, and Kenny Bollinger and wife Kathy of Neosho, MO; fourteen grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 26 from 4 until 6 pm at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho, with Kevin Boeckenstedt officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Hazel Green Cemetery, Granby, MO. Grandsons, Nathan, Kellen and Kory Bollinger, Gary and Mark Cade, Matthew and Daniel Diliberto and Kevin Boeckenstedt will have the honor of serving as pallbearers.

Floyd Prock

(From Parker Mortuary)

Floyd L. Prock, Jr., age 95, Joplin, passed away at 11:28 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital.

Floyd was born June 9, 1923 in Osceola, Missouri to the late Floyd Prock, Sr. and Edna Mae Wilkerson Prock and had lived in the Joplin area most of his life.

He worked at Hamm Chevrolet in Aurora, R&S Chevrolet (29 years as parts manager) and Schumacher-Blum Chevrolet in Carthage. Floyd then worked for the Joplin R-VIII School District at Cecil Floyd Elementary as day engineer, and upon retirement he worked at various Joplin R-VIII schools as well as the administration building as a substitute engineer and/or custodian.

Floyd was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. He served tours in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Northern Apennines Mountains, Po Valley, Southern France, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. Floyd was awarded with several medals and citations, including the WWII Greek Commemorative Medal, the Presidential Citation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with ten Battle Stars.

He married Henrietta Musgrave on February 19, 1948 in Aurora. She preceded him in death on August 29, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Prock, Estero, Florida.

Services are planned for Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Russell Willoughby will officiate. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from Noon until service time at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunters Hope Foundation, in care of Parker Mortuary.

Greg Asbell

Richard Gregory Asbell, 48 of Jasper, Missouri passed away Monday, November 19, 2018. Greg was born December 5, 1969 in Mt. Vernon, Missouri to Richard and Mary (Pennington) Asbell. Greg worked at Leggett & Platt wire mill and raised cattle.

Greg was united in marriage to Amy Morgan on February 29, 2016. She survives. Other survivors include, One son, Hunter Asbell. One daughter, Neyla Asbell. One step-son, Sam Elliott. His parents, Richard and Mary Asbell. Two sisters, Regina Velasco and Tina Morten. He was preceded in death by a daughter Karlie Asbell. 

A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. Inurnment will be in Paradise Cemetery at a later date.

Patty Wilson

Patricia Ann Wilson passed away at the age of 65 on November 17, 2018 at her Fairview home. She was born August 11, 1953 in Neosho to Frank and Dixie (Hutchings) Reed.

Patty was employed with Jack Henry and Associates in the Corporate Procurement department. She was a member of Belfast Baptist Church. Patty enjoyed fishing with her husband, shopping, and helping other people. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Patty married Robert Wilson on December 17, 1971 in Neosho; he survives of the home. She is also survived by her father and step-mother, Frank and Carolyn Reed of Neosho; her mother, Dixie Zeyen of Hutchison, KS; two children: Melissa Wilson of Diamond, MO, and Ray Wilson and wife, Kelly of Lenexa, KS; three sisters: Rayma Ireland of Columbia, MO, Debbie Lauber and husband, Jack of Wichita, KS, and Sandra Reed Wilson and husband, Bud of Neosho, MO; two brothers: Mike Zeyen of Hutchison, KS and Mark Zeyen and wife, Brenda of Dodge City, KS; six grandchildren: Craig VanLue, Morgan Staab, Trayner Wilson, Brooklynn Renkoski, Hannah Knaust, and Connor Knaust; and two great grandchildren: Ashlee Mitchell and Kaidence Callen. Patty was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Frank Reed and her mother, Ada Belle Reed.

Memorial services will be 3:00 pm, Monday, November 26, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel, Granby, MO with Sandra Reed Wilson and Joe Brattin officiating. A memorial visitation will be from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 25 at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.

Bernadine Boyer

Bernadine Boyer, age 94, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at National Health Care, Joplin.

She was born March 7, 1924 in Neosho, Missouri to the late Willard Bales and Ethel Duffield Bales.

Bernadine married John Eugene Boyer in Carthage, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1976.

She worked several years for Sears and worked at South Middle School for many years. Membership was held in Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Lou Boyer.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Boyer and wife, Kim, Joplin, John Boyer and wife, Sharon, Seneca, Missouri; three daughters, Kay Harpole and husband, Jack, Oronogo, Missouri, Barbara Campbell and husband, Edward, Pat Jaacks, all of Joplin; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Faucett, Neosho.

Graveside services are planned for 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Oakwood Cemetery in Neosho. Rev. Jeff D. Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be left in care of the mortuary.

Alice Carnahan

Alice G. Carnahan, 87, Granby, MO, entered eternal rest on Nov. 21, 2018. She was born Oct. 3, 1931 in Granby to Jim and Janie (Hagewood) Gamble and was a lifelong resident of the city. Alice was a homemaker, a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church and the Ritchey Chicks. She liked to sew and do embroidery work and loved going to gospel singings and being with her family.

Alice and William A. (Bill) Carnahan were married April 3, 1953; he preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 2002. She is survived by four children: Janie Harris and husband, Earl, Karen Carnahan, Leslie Carnahan, and David Carnahan, all of Granby; three grandchildren: Jason Carnahan, Shayne Carnahan and Shayla Carnahan; and one great grandchild, Jacob Carnahan. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Crossno and one brother, Harold Lloyd Gamble.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel, Granby, MO with Rev. Thomas Casady, II officiating.
Interment will follow at Kenney Cemetery, Neosho.
Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, Nov. 26 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel.

Ronal Blaylock

Ronal Dale “Cheese” Blaylock, 65, passed away November 21, 2018 at his Exeter home. He was born May 2, 1953 in Heavener, OK to Willie John and Lucille (Lee) Blaylock. Ronal was a railroad engineer with K.C. Southern. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing, camping, tractors, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was also known to be very good at karaoke.

Ronal and the former Deborah Powell were married Jan. 10, 2003 in Eureka Springs, AR; she survives of the home. Additional survivors include four children: Tresa Smith and husband, John, Ronny Blaylock all of Heavener, OK, David Pyles and wife, Mariah of Eureka Springs, AR, and Jerra Madole and husband, Rob of Oronogo, MO; two brothers: John Blaylock and wife, Denise of Joplin, MO and Jim Blaylock and wife, Judy of Broken Arrow, OK; four sisters: Sue Blaylock of Heavener, Peggy Osborn and husband, Jack of Tahlequah, OK, Judy Sizemore and husband, Gerry of Gravette, AR and Vicki Cosby and husband, Matt of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday, Nov. 26 at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel, Granby, MO.

Graveside services, under the direction of Dowden Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, OK, will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Heavener Memorial Park Cemetery, Heavener, OK.
