Gerald Dale ‘Mac’ McIntire, Joplin, died Feb. 3, 2016 at Spring River Christian Village at the age of 89.
Gerald was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Goodman, MO, the son of Orville and Mae (Yocum) McIntire and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Army, June 13, 1945 through March 16, 1947. He worked as foreman in the body shop of Dan Stanley Ford and Gus Shaffer Ford until retirement. He was a very giving man, always helping others and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
Gerald married Rowena Tippie on Nov. 12, 1945 and she survives. Other survivors include two sisters, Pauline Tackett and husband, Victor of Bartlesville, OK and Lorene Olson, Diamond; sister in law, Yvonne McIntire of Joplin and brother in law, John Dorsey of Joplin and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Dorsey and two brothers, Everet McIntire and Raymond McIntire.
