Laura Burr

Laura B. Crews Burr, 86, Neosho, died February 5, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, following three months of declining health. 

Laura was born Oct. 12, 1929 in Newton County, the daughter of Jake and Edith (McQuitty) Crews. She was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a beautician, she had worked at Big Smith and then as a bookkeeper for the family business, Burr Construction Company. She enjoyed bird watching, fishing, her dogs, Bear and Chili Pepper, she never met a stranger and loved visiting. She was a very giving person and loved sharing with friends. 

 She married Troy Burr on Feb. 29, 1948 in Bentonville, AR and he preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1997. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Davidson and husband, Bob of Tulsa; three grandchildren, Matthew Wade McCool of Bentonville, AR; Brandi Dawn Davidson-Moore and husband, Matthew of Tulsa, OK and Kayla Dyan Davidson of Tulsa, OK; one brother, Jerry Crews of Tulsa, OK; sister in law, Earlene Branick of Neosho; special ‘Great Grandchildren’, the Edie Burnett Family and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Dawn McCool and son in law, Michael Wade McCool; two sisters, Audrey Garlow and Sarah Roecker. 

 Services will be Wed., Feb. 10, 2016 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Belfast Cemeteryand serving as pallbearers will be Bob Davidson, James Burnett, Phillip Roecker, Allen Bryant, Mitch Whittington, Scott Whittington, Dick Cohu and Tom Gourley. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Lee Lankford, Mike Snow, Matt Moore, Seth Roecker, Stephen Garlow.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Laura may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
