Katie Todhunter

Katheryn S. 'Katie' Todhunter, age 86, Joplin, passed away at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch following a long illness.

Katie was born July 25, 1929 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to the late Myron Jones and Dora Dale Jones and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.

She worked at the former Mercantile Bank, now known as U.S. Bank in the trust department for over ten years. Prior to that, Katie worked at the former Plaza Lanes Bowling Alley for several years.

She enjoyed bowling and belonged to several women's leagues. Katie was a longtime member of Blendville Christian Church.

She married William 'Bill' Todhunter on March 20, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include two sons, Randall Todhunter and his wife, Margaret, Barling, Arkansas, and Michael Todhunter and his wife, Robbin, Hickory, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Angela Bramlett, Jacob Todhunter, Sarah Rose, Matthew Todhunter; and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Katie was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Services are planned for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate. Interment will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miami, Oklahoma.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
