Jackie “Jack” Howard LeGrand, age 84, formerly of Pittsburg, Ks, more recently of Joplin, Mo passed away Monday February 8, 2016 at his home.
He was born on June 28, 1931 in Pittsburg, Ks the son of John Henry and Bessie Marie “Baldwin” LeGrand. Jack was a veteran serving his country with the United States Army. He married Mary Darnaby on December 28, 1958 in Pittsburg, Ks. Jack worked as a Sales Representative for KG&E in Pittsburg until his retirement, he then owned and operated a coal mining and insulation company in the Pittsburg area. He currently owned and operated Gateway Storage in Joplin. He was a member of The Church of God in Pittsburg, and a member of the Blue Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary of the home; two daughters: Kim LeGrand of Joplin, Mo, and Kari Wisdom and her husband Matt of Neosho; a granddaughter Sarah Elizabeth Wisdom, and a sister Sue Jo Delmez and husband Don of St. Charles, Mo.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday February 12, 2016 at the Fort Scott National Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
