Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather whose most cherished possession was his family and friends.
Ralph Allen Schellack, age 87, Joplin, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch. He was born September 24, 1928 in Joplin to the late Ralph C. Schellack and Irene Allen Schellack and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
He was hardworking and humble man who was a co-owner of Massa Distributing Co. before retiring from Southwestern Sash and Door as the office manager.
Ralph married Clova Foster on March 6, 1953 and they had over 60 wonderful and memorable years together. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2013.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Carr.
Ralph is survived by his children, Allen Schellack and his wife, Karen, Ft. Scott, Kansas, Gill Barnett and her husband, John, Edmond, Oklahoma, Emil Schellack and his wife, Anna, Olathe, Kansas, Doug Schellack and his wife, Shannon, Joplin; grandchildren, Dustin Schellack, Joshua Schellack, Sarah Barnett, Michael Barnett, Tiffany Whittington, Kyle Schellack, David Crane, Courtney Schellack, Kailey Schellack; and three great grandchildren.
Services are planned for Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at South Joplin Christian Church. Dr. Colleen Carroll will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Schellack, Joshua Schellack, Michael Barnett and Dustin Schellack.
Memorial contributions may be made to A New Leash On Life, Inc., in care of Parker Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
