Wyatt Ivy

PFC Wyatt Ethan Ivy, 20, of Monett, MO, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Ft. Riley, KS.

Wyatt was born on July 10, 1995 in Springfield, MO, son of Gary Ivy and Christi (Robberson) Randles. Wyatt moved from Ozark, MO to Monett in 2000. During his childhood, Wyatt enjoyed camping and fishing trips to Roaring River with his family and spending time with his friends. He also loved playing video games. If you had the opportunity to compete against him, you knew that he was a true gamer. He was a dedicated fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed his family vacations to the beach, especially Dauphin Island. Wyatt graduated from Monett High School with the class of 2014 and shortly thereafter, enlisted in the United States Army, where he was stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. During this last year, Wyatt took a great interest in duck hunting. He enjoyed the excitement of the hunt and the fellowship of his fellow hunters.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Gary and Penny Ivy, of Rogersville, MO; his mother and stepfather, Christi and Erick Randles, of Monett; his sisters, Ashton Ivy, of the home and Tesa Tavenner, of Rogersville, MO; his brothers, Derick Randles, of Joplin, MO, Dylan Randles, of Cassville, MO, Collin Randles, of Monett and Bronson Tavenner, of Rogersville; his paternal grandmother, Farrell Ivy, of Ozark, MO; maternal grandparents, Karen Corn, of Monett and Bill Robberson, of Purdy, MO; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Lou McCracken, of Monett. He is also survived by Penny’s parents, Janice and Dennis Bowers, of Fordland, MO; and Erick’s parents, Tom and Cheryl Wilson, of Lamar, MO; as well as many extended family and friends.

Wyatt was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Julian Ivy; maternal step-grandfather, Fr ed Corn; and maternal great-grandfather, Junior McCracken.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at New Site Baptist Church in Monett. Reverend Aaron Weibel will be officiating. Interment and military honors will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the church.
