James (Jim) Dennison Dorris Jr., 44, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 2:07 AM, February 1, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.
James Dennison Dorris Jr. was born September 30, 1971 in Beauford, South Carolina the son of James D. Dennision Sr. and Sharon (Slusser) Dorris. Jim as he was known by his family and friends, served his country in the Army National Guard and served in active duty in Iraq. Jim was a avid fisherman and he adored his family. He worked for Lowes in Neosho as a delivery truck driver. He also formerly worked for CEI in Neosho. Jim was a member of the Seneca United Methodist Church.
James Dennison Dorris Jr. married Dawn Marie Zlotnicki February 10, 1996 in West Nanticoke, PA and she survives.
Additional survivors include his mother Sharon Dorris, Okeechobee, FL; one son, Derrick James Dorris and Fiancé Xena Caynor, Seneca; one daughter, Makayla Jane Dorris, Seneca; adopted children Ashlee Breann Garner and husband Evan; one adopted grandson Ivan Garner; two brothers, Steven Dorris and wife Tara and Jeffery Dorris and wife Elizabeth all of Mountain Top, PA; two sisters, Michelle Engle and husband John, Muhlenburg, PA and Stacey Crisswell and husband Jon, Berwick, PA
James was preceded in death by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents; one nephew, Johnny Kennedy, two nieces, Courtney Engle and Navada Zlotnicki.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca. Following Visitation the body will be taken for cremation.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Seneca United Methodist Church with Rev. Cynthia Royce officiating.
