Wayne L. “Weiner” Zaerr, age 68, of Lamar, Missouri, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, Kansas.
Wayne was born September 8, 1947 at the old Mt. Carmel Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Fred and Marie (Wood) Zaerr. He graduated Liberal High School in 1965 and on October 23, 1982, he married Linda Sue Burns at Lamar First Baptist Church.
Wayne had worked at Mercy Hospital Fort Scott for 26 years before going to work at Thorco Industries, working for 16 years before retiring. He was a member of Metro Club, a past member of Elks Lodge, loved all kinds of sports, especially the Lamar Tigers and the Dallas Cowboys. Wayne liked to hang out at Stevens’ Automotive and talk about sports and hang out at Tractors BBQ to tease and flirt with “his girls”. He was also a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Zaerr; one son, Chad and wife Jacci Zaerr of Centerton, Arkansas; one daughter, Crystal Zaerr, of Lamar, Missouri; and three grand dogs, Riley, Ridley, and Sadie.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
