Thomas Dale Starr, age 71, Seneca, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City.
Thomas was born December 6, 1946 in Neosho, Missouri, one of ten children born to the late Earl Don Starr and Ruth Ramona Ball Starr. He graduated from Seneca High School, and worked in construction all his life. He was owner and operator of Tom Starr Construction, where he worked throughout the four state area doing all facets of construction. He was very talented in all areas of construction, and also learned automotive repair. He loved to restore old vintage cars, and prided himself on his ability to "fix" anything.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Earl Don Starr, Owen Randolph Starr, Francis Floyd Starr; and sisters, Geneva Davis and Pauline Starr.
Survivors include his daughter, Kimberly Starr Souter and husband Brent of Springdale, Arkansas; son, Kevin Starr and wife Jolene of Shell Knob, Missouri; special girl friend, Paula Beckham; brother, Zane Starr and wife Kimberly of Seneca; sisters, Janice Fern Stout of Joplin, Deloris Ball of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Norma Starr of Joplin; five grandchildren, Madison Garnett and husband Jantzen, July Souter all of Springdale, Michelle Richardson and husband Joe, Shandera Workman all Joplin, and Gus Starr of Seneca; five great-grandchildren, Remmington, Maverick, Evalynn, Logan, and Wade; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends including his best friend, Bob Etherton of Joplin;
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hornet Christian Church with Pastor Doug Lehman and Bill Lant officiating. Interment will follow in Hornet Cemetery with Zane Starr, Ron Ball, July Souter, Gus Starr, Kevin Starr, and Ronnie Watson serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
