David J. Basye, age 52, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Mr. Basye, son of James and Eileen (Demel) Basye, was born on September 13, 1966, in Great Bend, Kansas. He was a 1984 Cassville High School graduate where he excelled in football. Mr. Basye served his country proudly in the United States Navy. On Aug 14, 1993, he was united in marriage to Sheila Brownsberger in Montrose, MO. Mr. Basye was employed with Dyno Nobel for twenty years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Mr. Basye loved spending time with family and friends, and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Basye was a member of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield, Masonic Lodge of Carthage, and V.F.W. Post #2590.
Additional survivors include one son, Alec Basye and wife Alexis, of Webb City; two daughters, Brooke Basye, of Buffalo, Iowa, and Megan Basye, of Webb City; two grandchildren, Liam Kraklio and Kolsen Basye; two brothers, Daniel Basye and his wife Kayla, of Jenkins, and Daryl Basye and his wife Kari, of Inverness, Florida; one sister, Diana Walters and her husband Mark, of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, with Pastor Joe Morris officiating. Burial will full military honors will follow at Corinth Cemetery, Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, MO 65625.
