Fred Sherman

George Fredrick “Fred” Sherman, age 76, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 8, 1942 in St. Paul, Kansas the son of George D. and Irene M. (Smith) Sherman. On August 15, 1981 he was united in marriage to Neoma Ruth Adams, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Richard Bittle and his wife Diane of Galena, Missouri, Ronnie Bittle and his wife Jayne of Neosho, Missouri and Lyle Bittle of Purdy, Missouri; three daughters, Rebecca Jo Sherman and her husband Kevin of Holiday Island, Arkansas; Phyllis Easley and her husband Ed of Cassville, Missouri and Debra Blankenship and her husband Pat of Jenkins, Missouri; one sister, Joyce Kohley of Goodman, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Charles Sherman.

Fred grew up and received his education in Goodman, Missouri, where he graduated from high school. On April 24, 1963 he joined the United States Army, serving until April 19, 1966. For twenty years he was employed at La-Z-Boy in Neosho and later worked at Able 2 as a lead man. He was a member of Goodman First Baptist Church.



Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Neosho Memorial Park in Neosho, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Jerry Yarnall will conduct the services.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
