Shirley Ann Brashears was born July 7, 1943 in McDonald County, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil and Nadine (Jones) Johnson.
She entered into rest on January 8, 2019 at her home in Shell Knob, Missouri, following an extended illness at the age of 75.
Shirley had worked as church secretary at the Assembly of God Church in Muskogee, OK, the Presbyterian Church in Springdale, Arkansas and the First Assembly of God Church in Springdale, where she retired. She enjoyed reading, sewing and singing and was a member of the Silver Moon Full Gospel Church in Neosho.
Shirley and Don Bashears were married on April 2, 1960 at the Silver Moon Full Gospel Church and he survives. Additional survivors include three children, Teresa McCutchon of Sarcoxie, MO; Crystal Callahan and husband, Rick of Shell Knob and Donald E. Brashears and wife, Donna of Bella Vista, AR; one brother, Virgil Johnson of Diamond; one sister, Sue Kelly of Joplin; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Nava McClendon.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Silver Moon Full Gospel Church, Diamond. Pastor Phil Barber will officiate. Interment will follow at Granby Memorial Cemetery, Granby. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Church on Friday.
