Sue D. Grubbs, age 76, Carl Junction, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Webb City Health and Rehabilitation Center after an illness.
Sue was born February 14, 1942 in San Jose, California to the late Dewey Cogburn and Susie Lemmons Cogburn and had lived in the Carl Junction area for several years.
A homemaker, Sue was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Carl Junction, where she taught Bible study and was a member of the W.M.U. Sue also led Bible studies at the Carl Junction Senior Citizens Center and at Celebrate Recovery in Webb City. She enjoyed her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
She married James Grubbs on September 1, 1961 in Wister, Oklahoma. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include her children, Michele Mills and husband, Scott, Carl Junction, Frostie Grubbs and Sheila Howard, Dunedin, Florida, Gary Grubbs, Sarasota, Florida; a brother, Denver Cogburn, Kinta, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Joshua Grubbs, Florida, Arista Grubbs, Joplin, Jeremiah Mills and Devon Grant, Carterville, Kristie Bash, Lincoln, Nebraska, Devin Mailles, Tarpon Springs, Florida, Benjamin Mills and Makayla Johnston, Carl Junction, Cheyenne Brickley, Highwood, Montana; and great grandchildren, Morgan Johnson, Madison Johnson, Deacon Johnson, J.J. Grubbs, Dominic Ramsey, Mia Grubbs, Dacey Ramsey, Hayden Grubbs, Gavin Grubbs, Asher Mills, Jacer Mills and Jett Mills.
In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by siblings, Hazel Naylor, Palmer Cogburn, Donnie Cogburn, Terry Cogburn; and a granddaughter, Brigitte Mills Johnson.
Memorial services are planned for Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Charlie Clark will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
