(From Parker Mortuary)Mary Frances Armstrong, age 83, Carthage, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary was born July 10, 1937 in Shawnee, Kansas, one of six children born to the late Rev. Alonzo E. Dotson and Mildred Wanita (Brown) Dotson.
She worked for years as a nurse’s aide for Webb City Health Center and Elmhurst of Webb City. She grew up being a “PK”, preacher’s kid, with her father pastoring several churches while she was a child. That helped instill her love of her Heavenly Father as a child, and her servant’s heart to help others over the years. She was currently serving at the Birthing Center Pentecostal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Billy Armstrong and Mike Armstrong; daughter, Barbara Mallatt; and all five siblings.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Armstrong; daughter, Virginia Tosh both of Webb City; eight grandchildren, Patrick “PJ”, Christina, Stephanie, Matt, Tiffany, Robert, Richie, and Sandy; 15 great-grandchildren, Kadyn, Andon, Little Richie, Dawson, Bentley, Nevaeh, Zoey, Jaelyn, Aliyah, Kason, Cru, Ellie, Kip, Kourtnee, Owen; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Miner officiating. Interment will follow in Carl Junction Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Saturday from Noon until 2:00 p.m.
