(From Bath-Naylor Funeral Home)Helen Jean (Hockett) Coffman went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2024.
She was born July 17, 1926 in Cherokee County, KS to Walter Ray Hockett & Anna May (Dixon) Hockett, She attended local schools and graduated from Riverton High School in 1944.
Helen worked for the Berry Garment Factory in Columbus, KS making clothing for the military during WWII.
She went to Kansas City, MO to work for Montgomery Ward and later Sears.
On February 27, 1949 she was united in marriage to Ernest Edward Coffman at the East Minister Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, MO.
She is survived by a daughter Cynthia Sue Dickens and her husband Steven; a grandson Jason Dickens all of Carthage, MO; a brother Lloyd Hockett and wife Sue of Sequim, WA along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 67 years, two sisters: Juanita Hockett and Leone June Bartlett.
Membership was held in The Trinity Baptist Church in Pittsburg. She taught in the Children’s Dept. several years; an additional membership was held in The Kirkwood Friendship Club. She Loved her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, Family & Friends.
Funeral services will be 2pm April 12, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Rev. Greg Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Quaker Valley Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church; these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
