In 1970, Bill was drafted to the Cincinnati Bengals. After a brief stint with the Bengals, Bill returned to Mizzou, earning a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. After several moves across the country, Bill and Liz settled in Joplin, Missouri where they created a loving home for their sons William Ryan and Tyson Sharp Schmitt. Bill had a successful career as a Physical Therapist and Director of Rehabilitation. He retired in 2013.
Bill enjoyed being at the lake with his family, duck hunting, and golf. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Bill was a devout follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; he kept and relied on that faith his entire life. These values he passed down to his family.
Bill passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
