(From Simpson Funeral Home)On August 17, 2024, Frances Dodd, loving mother and devoted friend, ascended to her heavenly home. Born on October 29, 1931, in Joplin, Missouri, to Herbert and Ruth Blevins, Frances lived a life full of compassion, generosity, love, and support.
Frances was a beacon of love and kindness in the community of Asbury, where she resided for 58 years. A woman of deep faith, she actively served at the First Baptist Church of Asbury in multiple roles including a Sunday School teacher and church treasurer. Her belief was the cornerstone of her existence, and she lived every day in the service of others.
Frances was also a proud member of the Jasper County Extension Club and an esteemed Avon President's Club member. Her dedication to service was further exemplified by her 20-year involvement in prison ministries. Her generous spirit was infectious and was evident in all aspects of her life.
Frances had an artistic soul. She found joy in crocheting, painting by numbers, painting ceramics, and sewing. These hobbies not only reflected her creative side but also her patient and meticulous nature. She was a pillar of strength for her family, bringing them together with her unwavering love and support. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Dodd, and her parents, Herbert and Leota Blevins and two daughters, Baby Dodd and Janet Archer.
Frances is survived by her children, Melinda (Michael) Crowe, Richard (Janet) Dodd and Royal (Michelle) Dodd; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Frances's legacy of love will continue to live on through them.

Frances's life echoed the words of Proverbs 31:25-26, "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness." Her life was a testament to these words, and her memory will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege to know her.
