Craig Hopper

(From Clark Funeral Home)

Craig Wellington Hopper, beloved father, grandfather, and community leader, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on February 20, 1944, in Stella, Missouri, Craig was the cherished son of Ernest Wilburn and Mable Louise (Judd) Hopper.

A proud graduate of Granby High School, Craig pursued his passion for barbering after graduation, owning his own barber shop before transitioning to roles with Ozark Terminal and Atlas Powder, where he eventually retired. His commitment to his community was evident in his service as a judge for the City of Granby for seven years and his term as the city's mayor.

Craig married the love of his life, Norma Louise Cantrell, on November 12, 1962, in Monark Springs. Norma preceded him in death on March 23, 2021. Together, they built a life filled with love, raising a family and sharing their passions.

Craig had a deep love for watching westerns, sports, and raising horses. His legacy lives on through his children: son Kevin (Regina) Hopper, daughters Joyce Clark and Pam LeMasters, and his fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister, Starloyce Jeffers. Craig was preceded in death by his wife Norma, his parents, and his sons Keith Hopper, Steven Hopper, and brother Bryon Jerome Hopper.

A private family service will be held at a later date to honor his memory. Craig’s spirit and contributions to his community will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
