Jennie Sue Thompson, of Webb City, Missouri, passed away August 14, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born in Baxter County, Arkansas, on April 3rd of 1948, to Joshua Anderson and Lillie Ethel Thompson. She was the youngest of five sisters.
Sue graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1966. After high school graduation, she moved to Joplin and attended Missouri Southern State University.
Sue obtained a position as a switchboard operator at AT& T for several years, and then obtained a position at Shelter Insurance, beginning as a secretary and working up to an insurance adjuster where she worked for 25 years. After her retirement, she worked for Walmart for many years.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Wilma Morris and Dorothy Kemp. She is survived by her sisters Zelda Lance and Marva Lewis; son Sam Goade; grandchildren Maddie, Taylor, Samantha, Drew, and Carter; 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Sue was a long-time member of the Leawood Church of Christ.
She loved reading, her furry friends, and especially her people. Family and friends will miss her tender heart and the joy she brought to many.
Memorial Service is at 11:00 on Saturday, August 24th at Leawood Village Church of Christ, 2840 E 46th Street in Joplin, Missouri.
