(From Parker Mortuary)Shirley Jean Evans, age 87, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Freman Hospital West.
Shirley was born on January 24, 1937, in Carthage, MO, to the late union of John and Lois (Purcell) Frossard. She cooked for McClelland schools for a few years before working for Miller Manufacturing. She was united in marriage to Jack Clyde Evans, Sr. and after many memories and adventures together, he entered into his heavenly home on March 28, 1995. To this union, three children were born, Jack Evans Jr., Kevin Evans, and Rhonda Glaze.
Shirley loved going to the weekly hootenannies that her local community would host. She danced, conversed, and enjoyed many homecooked goods with her friends. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, watering her flowers, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Jack Evans Jr. and his wife, Kelly, Kevin Evans and his wife, Kathy, and Rhonda Glaze and her husband, Steve, all of Joplin; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lynnie Frossard.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Parker Mortuary from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Parker Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. with brother Jim Bowles officiating. Interment to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Frossard, Terry Frossard, Ted Epperson, Sam Dotson, Grayden Evans, and Brian Evans serving as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
