(From Ozark Funeral Home)Don Baker, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and friend, passed away on August 19, 2024, and received his heavenly crown.
Born to Paul and Eleanor Baker on November 19, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, Don graduated from Olivet Nazarene College with a degree in history.
It was at Olivet that he met his beloved wife, Marilyn, whom he shared 56 years of marriage with. Following his studies at Olivet, he attended Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City and devoted 39 years to a fulfilling and impactful ministry in the Nazarene Church, leading eight congregations across Florida, Alabama, Kansas, and Missouri.
Don was deeply passionate about serving the Lord, whether it was through preaching, visiting, or enjoying fellowship over meals—he never met a church potluck he didn't love.
His dedication extended to various church district ministries. He served many red and yellow hotdogs at kids' camps, acted as a quizmaster in countless teen Bible quiz competitions, and met weekly with minister friends for prayer and fellowship. In addition to his pastoral work, Don served as a bus driver for four different school districts.

An enthusiast for keeping statistics, Don tracked everything from weather temperatures and church attendance to gas milage on family vacations. Though he had a quiet demeanor, he was known for his witty remarks and enthusiastic cheering for the Chiefs, Royals, and Dodgers.
Don is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children Jennifer (Eric), Kevin, and Natalie (Keith); grandchildren Max, Kendra, Regan, Autumn, and Lauren; brothers Bob and Barry; and numerous other family members who will miss him dearly.
