(From Clark Funeral Home)Barbara Ann Mitchell was born on July 23, 1934, in the Wanda Community to Al and Margaret (Kipps) Rowe. She married the love of her life, Bill Mitchell, on February 25, 1952, in Butterfield, Missouri. They shared a long and devoted marriage until Bill’s passing on July 15, 2017.
A dedicated homemaker, Barbara took great pride in her home and especially in her yard, which she beautified with her beloved flowerbeds. She had a passion for embroidery, often creating and gifting hand-embroidered tea towels. An accomplished seamstress, Barbara also enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching—talents that brought joy to many. Barbara was a woman of faith. She was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Church in Fairview, Missouri.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Becky (Nolan) McNeill of Wheaton, Missouri; her brother, Bob Rowe of Neosho, Missouri; and her sister, Ethel Stowe of Florida. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Chris (Libby) Shockley and Adria (James) Nichols; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Mitchell; her parents; and three siblings.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Granby, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., also at Clark Funeral Home in Granby.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Barbara, may be made to Mt. Olive Church c/o Clark Funeral Home PO Box 66 Neosho, Missouri 64850
Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the love she shared with her family and community.
