Claudia Carol Carson (Clements), age 80, of East Lansing, passed away on May 27, 2025, at home.
Claudia was born on November 18, 1944, in Huntington Park, CA to Dennis and Belva (Blythe) Clements. She grew up in Neosho, MO where she attended Neosho High school.
She was an executive assistant for 26 years at St. Lawrence/Sparrow Hospital supporting the Engineering department. She earned the prestigious honor of Secretary of the Year award in 2001.
Claudia raised two daughters who credit her steadfast love and guidance with shaping them into the women and mothers they are today. She was known for her gift to gab, love of Motown music, Dairy Queen ice cream, and amazing Chex mix.
Claudia is survived by her partner of 25 years, Gregory Hartman, her daughters Carrie (Ryan) O’Connell of Phoenix, AZ and Christa Carson (Tom McDaniel) of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Jack, Kennedy, TJ, and Maggie, and was preceded in death by Belva and Rayburn Easley and Dennis and Aleese Clements.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 6 at 1 pm with a funeral service following at 2 pm at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 N Capitol Ave, Lansing, MI 48906. A Celebration of Life for Claudia will follow the funeral service at 3:30 pm at BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, 2515 Lake Lansing Rd, Lansing, MI 48912.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Claudia’s memory be made to the Building Restoration Fund of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing, MI.
