Rosemary Gordon

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Rosemary Gordon, age 90, departed this life peacefully at her home in Anderson, Missouri, on Saturday morning, May 24, 2025, following a recent decline in health. She entered this life on June 13, 1934, in Rogers, Arkansas, born to the union of the late Claude and Evelyn (Johnson) Barnes.

Rosemary's early years in Rogers laid a strong foundation for the remarkable woman she would become. In 1985, she moved to Anderson, Missouri, where she would spend the rest of her days surrounded by the natural beauty she so loved. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, and she took immense pride in love she had for each of them.

Her professional life was marked by a 22-year tenure at Emerson Electric, where she retired in 1998. Beyond her work and family, Rosemary had a passion for sewing and embroidery, creating beautiful pieces that were both a testament to her skill and a reflection of her love for those she gifted them to. Her flower beds were an array of color and fragrance, tended with the same care and attention she devoted to every aspect of her life. Shopping was more than a pastime for Rosemary; it was an opportunity to connect with friends, find joy in the little things, and express her keen sense of style.

Rosemary is survived by her eight children, Charley Meeker and wife, Pamela, of Rogers, Arkansas, Larry Meeker and wife, Lora, of Rogers, Arkansas, James Meeker of Gillham, Arkansas, Arnetta Meeker of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Glenda Green of Anderson, Missouri, Glenn Simpson of Rogers, Arkansas, William Gordon, III and wife, Gwen, of Anderson, Missouri and Thomas Gordon and wife, Johnna, also of Anderson; eighteen grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; a close cousin, Joann Ordinachev of Bentonville, Arkansas; as well as a host of other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Gordon on March 31, 2003; two daughters, Versetta Woolverton and Carol Chambers; a granddaughter, Jonna Patrick; and a daughter-in-law, Angela Meeker.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Fred Mills officiating. Burial will follow at the Gordon Family Cemetery near Anderson, Missouri. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Roger Meeker, Paul Meeker, Jason Taylor, Johnathan Simpson, William Gordon, IV and John Thomas Gordon with Sam Meeker, Andy Meeker, Weston Gordon and Jacob Gordon serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
