(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Billie Lee Ashlock Jr. age 59, passed away at 9:11 am. Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Billie was born March 9, 1966 in Joplin. His parents were Billie Lee and Leona Mae (Davis) Ashlock. He was a lifetime resident of Galena.
He graduated from Pittsburg KS High School. Then in 1984, he entered the Army National Guard where he served for 4 years until 1988. He held numerous jobs over the years and last worked as a steward in the kitchen at Downstream Casino for 5 years.
He enjoyed working on model cars and collected several items, including comic books, knives, and dragon statuettes. He was a jokester, especially when he was teasing his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Leona Ashlock, Galena; two sisters, Mashell (Charley) Thurman, Joplin, and Karen (Ricky) Tilton, Carl Junction, MO; 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 5 great-nephews and 6 great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, William Leroy Ashlock.
Billie has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. No services are planned at this time.
