(From Parker Mortuary)William ‘Bud’ Harley Anderson, age 60 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025 following a short illness. Bud was born April 1, 1965 in Neosho, Missouri to Robert L. Anderson and Eva Irene (Denny) Smith.
Bud graduated from Joplin High School in 1983 and enlisted into the United States Army. After honorably discharge, Bud went to work for different companies including several years at AmeriCold in Carthage and for the last few years, Bud has worked for General Mills in Joplin. Bud was a true outdoorsman. He loved to hike, camp and go biking, even being featured in different magazines. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend to everyone who knew him.
Bud was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson.
Those left to mourn his loss include his mother, Irene Smith of Carl Junction; sister, Lori Wilson (Charles) of Belleville, IL and a niece, Whitney Robinson (Sunny) of Belleville, IL.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri. No services are planned at this time.
A good human who served his country and loved the outdoors. I always enjoyed his adventures with his dog Sheba. He will be missed.
