Robert Wayne Garrison, age 66, of Joplin, MO passed away on May 21, 2025. Robert was born on April 12, 1959 in Joplin, MO to William and Charlotte Garrison. Robert graduated from Carl Junction High School. He went through basic training in the Army National Guard but couldn’t continue because of hearing problems.

Robert worked at Chicken Mary’s in Joplin, and later worked at Eagle Picher in Joplin for 23 years. He also worked for USXpress as a truck driver for 10 years. He had a heart attack and had to go on disability in 2013.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Garrison; one brother, Lyle Garrison; and one sister, Linda Buckley.

Robert is survived by his father, William Garrison; step mother, Karen Garrison; former wife, Pam Smith (husband Mike); and two sons Michael (wife Jen) and Daniel.

Also surviving is his wife, Debra Garrison; step-daughter, Misti Moran; step-son, William Michael Gerlt; step-grandchildren, Rick (Garrett), Ayden, Zack, Rae Ann, Lily, Oliver, and Wyatt; and one step-great-grandson, TJ.

Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday May 28,2025 at Lowell Cemetery in Lowell, KS, rural Baxter Springs.

Mr. Garrison will be lying in state at Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena where friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
