(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Betty Lou Reid, 94, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in the comfort of her own home.
Betty was born on Sunday, February 15, 1931, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, the daughter of the late Dutch and Anna (Goen) Dodson. She was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. For ten years she worked at Juvenile Shoe Factory in Sarcoxie.
On June 2, 1950, she was united in marriage to Eugene (Toby) Reid, sharing fifty-one years of beautiful memories until his passing on November 30, 2002. To this union, three children were born, Wesley Reid, Debra Pritchett and Dianna Pryor. She enjoyed oil painting, gardening, crocheting, planting flowers and spending time with her family. She was a member of West Union Church of Christ since 1963.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Toby Reid; and her siblings, Bill Dodson and Dorothy Burkey; stepfather, Ed Burkey; stepsister, Sharon Ruth Carlisle; and two stepbrothers, Leon Burkey and Don Burkey.
Betty is survived by her children, Wesley Eugene Reid and wife, Vanessa of Jasper, Missouri, Debra Louise Pritchett of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Dianna Lynn Pryor and husband, Kenny of Friestatt, Missouri; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her siblings, Phyllis Carr of Sarcoxie, Missouri and Carolyn Branum and husband, Roger, of Houston, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
