(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory) Bill Eugene Crusa, age 89, passed away at his home on May 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in May 1936 in Carthage, MO, to Charles (Dutch) and Agnes Crusa. Raised in Carthage, he attended Mark Twain Elementary and Carthage Junior and Senior High Schools, graduating in 1955. He was a proud member of the Carthage Letterman Club and the Tiger varsity football team.
Bill worked for Sears for 21 years before owning and operating Crusa’s Heat & Air. In retirement, he designed and installed HVAC systems for A/G Missions America Projects.
An avid sportsman, he especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bill loved working with young people, coaching numerous baseball and football teams. He also led multiple Royal Rangers groups, modeling his love for the outdoors, his devotion to the Lord, and his heart for service.
Bill married his high school sweetheart, Virginia Lee Ladd of Carl Junction, in 1955. They are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary this year. He was a proud father to his daughter Cheryl Lee Costley and her husband Keith Costley, and to his son Mark Crusa.
He especially enjoyed being an active part of the lives of his grandchildren, Amanda Hunter and husband Kevin Hunter, Andrea Costley, Travis Crusa and wife Brandie Crusa, Nacole Walker and
husband Shaun Walker, Ryan Crusa and wife Shannon Crusa, Christina Wilks and husband Lee Wilks and took great joy in his 23 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Bob; his in-laws, Herbert and Faye Ladd; and his great-grandson, Weston Ladd.
Bill’s extraordinary life will be celebrated with a family visitation at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am at Second Assembly of God in Joplin, MO.
