(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Ernal Meister, 83, a lifetime resident of Carthage, Missouri, left the pain and suffering of this world to be in heaven with his loving wife, Wilma, on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
He is survived by his daughter, Julie and her husband, John, of Carthage; one son, Steven (Jill) of Dallas, Texas; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jo) of Springfield, Missouri, and Ashley (Scott) of Springfield, Missouri; one great-granddaughter, Opal of Springfield, Missouri; and one sister, Nancy Fonville.
Ernal graduated from Carthage High School in 1960 and earned an electrical engineering degree from NEO College in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 95 of which he was a member of over 57 years.
After the passing of his wife, Ernal became a gentleman farmer, enjoying raising alpacas and chickens. He took great pride in the homestead that he and Wilma made together with an abundance of flowers and trees. He was a talented furniture maker, which is evident in each family household of which will become family heirlooms.
Ernal was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Wilma, his parents Vernal and Ella Meister, brother and sister-in-law Buck and Linda Meister, nephew, Vernal David Meister, and brother John Vernal Meister.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
