(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Ruth Logan (Williams), age 75, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on the morning of May 26, 2025, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin.
Born on September 6, 1949, in Lawton, Kansas, Ruth was the daughter of Charles and Erma Williams, she grew up alongside her three siblings. A self -proclaimed Daddy’s girl she inherited a love of secondhand sales and watching car racing from Charlie. She shared a love of garage sales and thrift stores with her mother Erma, she could spot a garage sale sign from a mile away. She enjoyed reading and word puzzles. A weather watcher she would share the weather forecast and current temperatures with you every time you talked.
She enjoyed classic TV like Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith and watching wrestling. Ruth insisted on taking snap shots of her family and friends and having family get togethers to share a meal.
She worked for many years in dietary for various area care facilities, her most recent being Spring River Christian Village which she retired from in 2016.
Preceding her in death are her parents Charles and Erma Williams, one brother Larry Williams, and one sister Delores Hodge.

She married Preston Logan on Dec 14, 1968, she is survived by their children Shawnda Doerr of Neosho, Missouri, Becky Vandergrift of Anderson, Missouri, Emma Belle of Joplin, Missouri, Preston Logan of Baxter Springs, Kansas. She had a special place in her heart for Rick Young of Joplin, Missouri and her dog Buddy. She is survived also by one brother Verle Alumbaugh, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many more extended family members and friends who will miss her.
A Graveside service has been scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, May 30 at Waco Cemetery in Waco, Missouri. The family will receive friends and visitors from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Thursday, May 29 at Mason-Woodard Chapel in Joplin.
