Jimmy Russell

Jimmy Iven Russell, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Jay, Oklahoma, on Thursday evening, May 22, 2025, at the age of 80. He entered this life on February 12, 1945, in Stella, Missouri, born to the union of the late Ivan Richard and Ethel (Harvey) Russell.

Jimmy was raised in the rural setting of McDonald County, Missouri. After his formative years, he answered the call of duty and served his country with honor as a member of the United States Marine Corps.








Following his military service, Jimmy embarked on a career as a truck driver, a job that suited his independent spirit and love for the open road. Outside of work, Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace and excitement in fishing and coon hunting, activities that allowed him to immerse himself in the natural beauty of the world around him.

He is survived by his nine children, Ivan Russell, Alan Russell, Ethel Kingfisher, Austin Russell, William Russell, Wilma Russell, Walter Russell, Jesse Russell and Shadow Russell; nine grandchildren, Keisha Roberton, Kobey Russell, Ty Russell, Dillon Chandler, Rowdy Chandler, Hayden Girty, Jennie Girty, Bryce Girty and Austin R. Russell; four great grandchildren, Jaylen Robertson, Pheonix Robertson, Remmington Russell and Michael Russell; four siblings, Charlene, Cathy, Patsy, Carolyn and Michael; as well as a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., in Jay, Oklahoma.
