Larry Wayne Whited of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at his home. He was 79.

Larry was born February 21, 1946 in Miami, OK to Frank James and Ora Bell (Thomas) Whited. He had lived in the Quapaw area since 1976 moving from Picher, OK. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He worked as a machinist for RG & S Engineering in Joplin, MO and then for Bagcraft in Baxter Springs, KS in maintenance. He was a member of Highway Tabernacle in Quapaw, OK.

Larry was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kayleigh Vann, his parents, 3 brothers, Harold Dean Whited, Glen Dale Whited and Jesse James Whited and 2 sisters, Shirley Marie Whited and Frankie Woodrow Ventura.

Larry is survived by his wife, Delta Whited of the home, 1 son, Frank James Whited and his wife Stacy of Perry, OK, 2 daughters, Lisa Vann and her husband Ted of Quapaw, OK and Donna Meppelink and her husband Mike of Joplin, MO, 2 sisters, Carolyn Sue Clogston of Quapaw, OK and Jonnita Renee Johnson of Miami, OK, 5 grandchildren, Drew Meppelink, Caitlin Meppelink, Zackary Vann, Logan Whited and Allie Jo Whited and 1 great-granddaughter, Stella Vann.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK with Rev. Ray Clonts officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, southwest of Columbus, KS. 

 Mike Meppelink, Ted Vann, Drew Meppelink, Jimmy Whited, James Hayworth and Houston Vann will serve as pallbearers. Caitlin Meppelink, Zackary Vann, Logan Whited, Allie Jo Whited and Stella Vann will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK.
