Millie was born on May 2nd, 1933 in Greenwood, MO to her parents Audie and Martha (Tash) McDonald. She later moved to Joplin, MO where she married her husband, Jerry West, on March 10th, 1951.
Millie had a zest for life; she had the amazing ability to draw the attention of every stranger she met. She loved to dance; there was not a person who was not subject to being her partner on the dance floor. Strangers at the beach, daughters, brothers-in-law, grandbabies and her favorite partner of all time, Jerry (the love of her life) were her partners of choice.
She believed strongly in getting dressed up in as much bling as possible even if she was just sitting at home in her chair. In recent years, very fancy-dress shirts, sweats and red dress shoes (bought by one of her grandkids) was the outfit she would pick every day. She loved watching baseball, old movies and Little House on the Prairie. If given the opportunity, she would have lived just like the Ingalls family, as long as she could bring her cell phone to play solitaire and have her Oreos, gummy bears, Reese’s and twinkies. She loved to laugh, and when she did, you might want to look closely because she had probably pulled some sort of prank. She loved her family and always looked forward to any time she could spend with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Audie and Martha McDonald; her husband, Jerry West; four siblings, Harvey McDonald, Harlan McDonald, Deanie Myers and Neville Driskill.
