Barbara Ann Davis, age 84, of Sheldon, Missouri, died Friday, April 24, 2015 at Barton County Memorial Hospital.
Barbara was born November 21, 1930 to Claude and Elma (Patton) Green and attended Bakers Grove Country School. On August 16, 1952, she married Jack A. Davis at Bentonville, Arkansas and together they raised their six children. She had worked as waitress and in the paint department at O’Sullivan Industries for 13 years, but her most important job was as a homemaker. Barbara attended the Community of Christ Church in Lamar and enjoyed working word puzzles and watching her soap operas, including her favorite, The Young & The Restless.
Survivors include two sons, James William Altop, of Hobbs, New Mexico and Michael (Melodie) Davis, Nevada, Missouri; three daughters, Linda (Bob) Burns, Sheldon, Missouri, Dianna (Paul) Risner, Jasper, Ohio, and Hazel (Jim) Young, Lamar, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Jack Davis on September 2, 2013; a daughter, Barbara Joann Chambers; three brothers, Lester, Dave, and Claude Green; two sisters, Lunita Comstock and Twila Cass; and a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Nichols.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2015 at Daniel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday. Burial will be in Iantha Cemetery.
