William Michael Trahan, age 69 of Joplin, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Galena Nursing Center following an extended illness.
William was born April 5, 1946 to the late Joseph Trahan and Dorothy Ryan Trahan in Joplin. He was a lifelong resident of Joplin. William worked for over 47 years for the Joplin Globe. Many knew William through his 20 years of umpiring softball. He also attended St. Mary's Catholic school and church.
On June 25, 1986 he married Phyllis Dunnivant in Joplin and she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include a step-daughter, Stefanie Cartwright and her daughter, Sara of Olathe, Ks; brother, Dr. Tom Trahan of Scottsdale, Arizona; his cat, Jazz plus many extended family and friends that will greatly miss William.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Hunter Cartwright.
A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, April 14th from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. His ashes will be entombed at Osborne Memorial Park at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
