Josephine “Jody” Dunkle, 82, Carthage, passed away Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin. Jody Dunkle was born October 3, 1932 in Walnut Shade, MO; a daughter of the late John William Hurt and Martha Jane Josephine (Baughman) Hurt. Jody was a graduate of Central High School, Springfield, MO and a member of the First Baptist Church, Carthage. She came to Carthage in 1960 from Coffeyville, KS and was a secretary for Morrow Milling Co., Nabisco and Precious Moments, retiring on April 30, 1998.
Survivors include two daughters; Pam (Ron) Stanley, Olathe, KS and Cindy Cowan, Carthage; one son, Rob (Jenny) Dunkle, Joplin, MO; one sister, Ina Hurt, Springfield, MO; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mrs. Dunkle was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Johnny and Roy Hurt; two sisters, Omega Danner, and Eunice Bolin.
